Unit Profile: Staff Officers

Staff Officers

While variations are more likely at the level of general officers, there is an established uniform intended for the wear of those officers on assignment to headquarters as well as general officers not directly attached to a regiment. The uniform combines the standard basalt gray of the line infantry with the azure blue of the Guards regiments.

Interesting . . . I would have thought more of the colors of your flag would have been used.

But you do have a good rational for the uniform . . . and I do like it.

Hi Jonathan,

Very attractive uniform design. Looking forward to seeing it on a few figures. How is your painting coming along? Might you post any photos of your progress? Are you going to get in on the next Eureka 100 purchase?

Best Regards,

Stokes

Well, my national flag remains to be developed, really. I've still got to work up a coat of arms that I'm truly satisfied with.

As for painting progress, I'm afraid it's been nill the past few weeks. I haven't really felt like painting, due mostly to a lot of work lately. But I'm intending to get some more gray uniforms on the company and a part sitting on the paint desk soon.

BTW thereIS a dismounted hussar on display in the Duchy of Alzheim. The pose may look odd for a 'Lieb' Guard, perhaps other are available. And once painted pink, who knows?

Still bothering you with possible dismounted hussars = 'Leib company' of Princess Gertrude's Own {I'm pondering making this a regiment of dismounted Hussars Pink uniform coat, violet facings (collars, cuffs, facings, and turnbacks). Gray trousers and waistcoat. Violet tape on the tricorn edging.}
On the OSW group, a query from Greg Horne (Duchy of Alzheim) [Message #18896] suscited a quasi-consensus about the Garrison range...

Garrison is a bit expensive for my buget at present, but I do admit to being tempted. I took a look at the one on Alzheim a few days ago, actually, and have stored away a separate idea for its use.
